Una giovane vecchia conoscenza di Oca Nera Rock, che ha cominciato a seguire la band quando il restyling della vostra webzine preferita (o, almeno, tra le preferite) era ancora in cantiere.

Nativi di Tallinn ma attivi praticamente su tutti i Paesi che costeggiano il Baltico da sud e da est, i Frankie Animal hanno pubblicato quest’anno il loro Lp d’esordio, “The Backbeat”, che non ha deluso chi si era già affezionato alla band in tempi non sospetti: attivi dal 2012, partecipano a – e vincono – un’importante serie di concorsi per band emergenti a livello nazionale, per poi pubblicare il loro primo Ep, “Obsession”, nel 2014.

Dopo due anni, siamo tornati a seguirli nel tour per la pubblicazione di “The Backbeat” in vinile per la loro data nella capitale estone, al Sinilind.
Conoscevamo il posto (tUnE-yArDs ha calcato lo stesso palco due anni fa), conoscevamo la band, avevamo idea di cosa aspettarci. Nessuna sorpresa particolare, ma tante rassicuranti conferme sul potenziale della band – e su una performance veramente interessante dell’opening act Ouu. Provate ad immaginarvi lì ascoltando “The Backbeat” e dando un’occhiata al nostro reportage.

A good old acquaintance of Oca Nera Rock, which has first followed the band when the restyling of your favourite webzine (or, at least, among your favourites) was still in the making.

Born and raised in Estonia, but basically active in all the countries bordering the Baltic Sea from south and east, Frankie Animal published this year their debut LP, “The Backbeat”, which has not left disappointed those who got attached to the band since four years ago already.

After two years, we followed them again in Tallinn as part of “The Backbeat” vinyl release tour, in Kohvik Sinilind. We already knew the place (tUnE-yArDs performed on the same stage two years ago), we knew the band, we had an idea of what to expect. No special surprise, but many reassuring confirmations on the band’s potential – and a really interesting performance delivered by the opening act Ouu.
